Local region set for temperature spike this week
Temperatures in Westmeath and south Roscommon could reach highs of 27°C or above over the next few days, Met Éireann has forecast.
A yellow weather warning was issued for the region this morning (Monday), as well as 24 other counties around Ireland.
Met Éireann has predicted maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C combined with night-time minima in excess of 15°C.
The expected onset of these conditions is tomorrow (Tuesday) from 12noon with the weather warning currently expiring on Friday, June 26 at 9am.
The other affected areas are Carlow, Cavan, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Dublin, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Leitrim, Laois, Limerick, Longford, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford, Wexford and Wicklow.
