High temperature weather warning issued for Westmeath
A fresh yellow high temperature weather warning has been issued by Met Éireann for 20 counties, including Westmeath, this morning (Tuesday).
The weather warning issued by the national weather forecaster is valid from 12pm and will remain in place until 6am on Friday morning
Met Éireann said that maximum temperatures in excess of 27°C are expected in the effected counties combined with night-time minima in excess of 15°C expected.
Met Éireann advised the public to be aware of potential impacts from the current spell of warm weather, pointing out that there's a risk of water safety issues arising due to increased use of lakes and beaches.
Forest fires are also a possibility, and people are asked to be mindful of the potential for drought, uncomfortable sleeping conditions and heat stress in certain situations.
