Local representation in Connacht women's interpro squad
Athlone's Anna McGann is one of a number of players from the wider Midlands area to be named in the Connacht squad for the upcoming Vodafone IRFU Women’s Interprovincial Championship.
The Moydrum native is joined by Rosemount's Emma Kelly who has been selected for the first time in a Connacht squad following her switch from Leinster.
Ballinasloe's Beibhinn Parsons, Aoibheann Reilly from nearby Creagh, and Creggs RFC player, Merisa Kiripati, along with Roscommon player, Jemima Adams Verling, have also been included by Head Coach Craig Hansberry for the interpro championship which starts with an away fixture against Ulster on Saturday, August 8.
A trip to Dublin to face Leinster follows, before Connacht host their sole home game in the group stage against Munster at Dexcom Stadium on Saturday, August 22.
The Dexcom Stadium will also host the interpro championships play-off finals for the first time on the weekend of Friday, August 28.
