Man arrested over drugs and firearms seizure

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug and firearm offences following a security alert in north Belfast.

The PSNI conducted a search of a home at Rosapenna Parade following the alert on Friday.

On Saturday, police said the operation had ended and announced they had recovered suspected firearms, ammunition, drugs and cash.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including possession of a class A controlled drug with intent to supply, possessing a firearm and ammunition in suspicious circumstances and possessing ammunition without a certificate.

He has since been released on bail as police inquiries continue.

Detectives appealed to anyone with information to contact them in Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 133 17/07/26.
