Gogglebox Ireland is looking for its next sofa stars

Gogglebox Ireland, which has given voice to those who shout at the TV from the comfort of their couch, is looking for new recruits.

A new series of the Irish spin-off has been commissioned and the producers are seeking out a group of twentysomething friends who are happy to welcome viewers into their sitting room and watch them watching TV. They are also looking for new families

The cultural phenomenon of the eavesdropping show has made stars of ordinary families, saying a statement that those with younger members aged 12 or over are of particular interest.

"Gogglebox Ireland prides itself on reflecting all of the different people, perspectives and communities that make up Ireland as we know it, and we're looking to do so again in the upcoming series," the TV company said. "Email casting@kiteentertainment.com with your contact details, tell us who's in your gang, where you're based, what you like to watch together, and include a couple of photos so we can put faces to names."
