Six Roscommon players chosen on Team of the Championship
Six Roscommon players have been selected on the LGFA TG4 Intermediate Team of the Championship.
Two of the selected six All-Ireland winning players, full back Áine Connaughton and centrefielder Abby Curran play their club football with Clann na nGael and St Brigid's respectively.
The remaining four Roscomon players selected on the Team of the Championship are goalkeeper and team captain, Helena Cummins (Michael Glaveys) half backs Saoirse Wynne (Boyle) and Ella Thompson (St Croan's) and forward Aisling Feely (Boyle).
Roscommon were crowned TG4 All-Ireland intermediate champions for the first time since 2005 when defeating Fermanagh on a scoerline of 2-12 to 0-6 in Croke Park on August 2.
Meanwhile, three Westmeath players have been selected on Team of the Championship.
Anna Jones (Mullingar Shamrocks) is selected at centrefield and she is joined by forwards Lucy McCartan (St Loman's) and Sarah Dillon (Milltown), with the team having been revealed on Wednesday.
The remainder of the team is made up of players from All-Ireland finalists Fermanagh (four) and Down (two).
Roscommon LGFA is currently seeking a new manager for its flagship team following the decision of Finbar Egan to step down after two years in the aftermath of the county's All-Ireland success
The Team of the Championship was selected by members of the LGFA’s All-Star committee, and the winners will receive their awards at a Croke Park function on Friday, October 9.
