Prolonged Moate water disruption expected during hottest week of the year

Uisce Eireann has said the latest water supply disruption in Moate, which began today (Tuesday) is likely to continue until this Thursday afternoon.

In a notice in its website, it said the supply issue was being caused by a reservoir interruption.

"A reservoir interruption may cause supply disruptions to Moate and surrounding areas in Westmeath," it said today.

"Works are scheduled to take place until 4pm on June 25."

Moate had been hit by intermittent water outages on a regular basis for several years now, and this latest disruption comes during a yellow-level high temperature warning with temperatures forecast to reach up to 30 degrees on Thursday.
