Garrycastle GAA pay tribute to former men's senior team manager
Garrycastle GAA has paid tribute to former men's senior team manager Paul Clancy, who passed away on Tuesday following an extended illness.
Clancy, a two-time All-Ireland-winning footballer with Galway, managed the men's senior football team in 2012, leading the club to a county final where they were defeated after a replay by Mullingar Shamrocks.
In a social media post, the club said that it was "deeply saddened to learn of the untimely passing of our former manager Paul Clancy".
The club said that Paul "brought a high level of professionalism to his role as senior team manager".
"A wonderful GAA person and the holder of two All Ireland football medals with his beloved Galway, Paul made many friends while in Garrycastle and we extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Johanna, children Ellen and Finn and to his wider family and friends and the Maigh Cuilinn GAA Club," the club said.
Paul will lie in repose at the O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91V1K8) on Thursday, from 3pm to 7pm.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated on arrival at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Moycullen on Friday at 12pm.
Following mass, Paul will be laid to rest in the adjoining graveyard.
