Athlone Town's European ties to take place in Poland
A venue and date has been confirmed for Athlone Town women's UEFA Champions League first qualifying round fixture next month.
Lily Agg's team will play North Macedonia club ŽFK Skopje 2014 in a mini tournament semi-final at Zagłębiowski Park Sportowy in Sosnowiec, Poland on Wednesday, July 22. A kick-off time has yet to be confirmed for the fixture, but the club said it is likely to take place in the morning.
The second fixture of the mini tournament will take place on Saturday, July 25, against either WFC Nike (Georgia) or KKS Czarni Sosnowiec (Poland) at the same venue, with a time also to be confirmed for this fixture.
Should the club advance from this stage of the competition they will play Cypriot champions Apollon LFC in the second qualifying round.
Athlone Town has recommended supporters travel to Kraków Airport (KRK) via Ryanair.
Meanwhile, the club has confirmed that the SSE Airtricity Premier Division fixture against Shelbourne, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 27, has been postponed due to the Dublin club progressing in the All-Island Cup. A refixed date will be confirmed in due course.
Athlone Town start the defence of the Club Orange FAI Cup with an away tie against Peamount United in Greenogue, Dublin, on Saturday, July 4, at 5pm.
