No Westmeath nominations made for Ireland’s Greenest Places 2026 as deadline approaches

There have been no Westmeath nominations made to date for Ireland’s Greenest Places 2026, as the deadline of Saturday, August 1, approaches.

To enter, write a short submission outlining the contribution the special place or project you’re nominating makes to a genuinely greener environment.

Awards will be given to Ireland’s Greenest Community, Greenest Suburb, Greenest Town or Village, Overall Winner and, a new one this year, Ireland’s Net Zero Hero.

Last year in the inaugural competition, the Dysart River Project was crowned the winner of Ireland’s Greenest Community after several local groups came together to address water quality issues in the Dysart River and in Lough Ennell.
