Athlone River Festival gives back €2,200 to three local causes

The Athlone River Festival has given back a total of €2,200 to three local causes.

This year, with the support of Athlone Tri Club members, the festival has contributed €500 to St Hilda’s Special School, €1,200 to Esker House, and €500 to Cornafulla Micro Reserve.

Since the reformation of the Athlone River Festival in 2024, the event has provided over €5,000 in support funding to local groups and community initiatives.

"Giving back is at the heart of what we do, and we are committed to ensuring that the Athlone River Festival continues to have a positive impact beyond the river itself," the Athlone River Festival said.

The organisers will announce the 2027 nominated organisation in the coming weeks.

They extended their thanks to festival supporters, the Vikings, the staff and volunteers of Athlone FRC, the Athlone River Festival volunteers, sponsors, local groups, and sponsors Viking Tours and Spectrum Signs.
