Moate pub takes home bronze Traditional Bar of the Year award

Moate pub Peadar's Bar and Lounge took home the bronze Traditional Bar of the Year award at The Square Bar of the Year Awards 2026.

The awards recognise the best that the 32 counties of Ireland have to offer in hospitality, with 31 categories, and took place on Monday, August 24, at the Clayton Hotel on Burlington Road.

The winners were announced at a gala awards ceremony hosted by Anton Savage.

Joining Peadar's in the Traditional Bar of the Year category was Mother Macs Public House in Limerick, which took home the silver award, and The Stags Head in Dublin, which took home the gold award.

The award for Traditional Bar of the Year is said to honour "the charm, heritage, and timeless hospitality of Ireland's great pubs".
