Roscommon GAA Centre of Excellence gets green light

Roscommon GAA has expressed delight that Roscommon County Council has granted planning permission to develop the Dermot Earley Centre of Excellence at Racecourse Road, Roscommon.

Developing a Centre of Excellence has been a key objective of Roscommon GAA for many years, but the project has encountered obstacles along the way.

The name of the Centre of Excellence will honour the late Dermot Earley, a legendary former Roscommon football star.

Roscommon GAA chairperson Brian Carroll has conveyed his gratitude to all those involved in reaching what he described as a "monumental milestone".

“I wish to thank Roscommon County Council for their guidance and information and the elected representatives of the Roscommon Municipal District for their support for the project," said Carroll.

"Finally, I would like to thank everyone involved within Roscommon GAA for their work and commitment in bringing the project to this stage.

"This is a mighty day for our county and is the start of an exciting chapter for Roscommon GAA,” Carroll added.
